Please share with others!

You were meant to glow even when everything around seemed dark and painful. You were meant to shine so brightly that you spark up the people around you. You are meant to live a confident, happy, and hope filled life.

A Glow Up is a mental, physical, and an emotional transformation for the better.” (Urban Dictionary)

Essentially, I created these steps to help you glow up mentally, so you can find your highest and best self despite your current obstacles.

How to Glow Up Mentally

1. Spend time reflecting

Slowing down to reach a place of inner and external awareness is important for your mental glow up. Oftentimes, we are so busy that we are in survival mode — just trying to get through the day or a hard situation. This can cause us to be out of alignment with our wants, desires, and even feelings.

Challenge yourself to turn off the noise and sit with yourself. During this time you can pray, journal, meditate, stretch, recite affirmations, and/or just enjoy the beauty of being present.

Whatever you do, make time to get to know yourself. You are a deep well and there’s more to you under the surface than you even know.

2. Build resilience

The ability to handle life challenges with positivity and strength is what will allow us to keep glowing. Therefore, to glow up mentally it is suggested that you begin learning how to increase your resilience.

Resilience is the “the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

According to a study, resilience training reduced average depression symptoms by 33% to 44%, and resilience training helped participants improve their overall health and well-being, with Physical (43%), emotional (40%) and mental (38%) well-being measures all improved.”
